Deck

The Skateboard or Deck,is the most prominent part of your setup.
The nose and tail of the board are usually concaved and raised slightly to provide more control while riding the board.

Industry standard boards usually consist of 7 to 9 plys of hard maple wood laminated together and pressed into whatevershape makes skateboarders happy.
Most Deck sizes are between 7.25 to 8.5 inches wide and between 29" and 33" inches long.
The ever so popular 'old school' board shapes and Longboards vary in width and length).
Remember: Skateboards are made of wood, and are being stomped, thrown and kicked on a daily basis. So don't act all surprised when it finally gives up on you!
All Decks break frequently.

Remember to land on the Bolts! That should prolong your Boards live!

Mounting Holes

Each Board has eight mounting holes, four in the front, and four in the back. these are drilled through your Deck so you can mount your trucks to the Deck.
Mounting holes for industry standard decks and trucks are a specified size so any standard truck should fit any standard deck.

Non-standard skateboard decks and trucks often will not be compatible with their industry standard counterparts,
so if you're having a hard time getting those new Ventures on the board your mom got from Wal-Mart...
we recommend you browse our selection of quality skateboard decks for something real.

Wheel Base

The Wheel base is the distance between the inside mounting holes on a board, basically the distance between two mounted trucks.

In all simplicity:the longer your legs are, the wider you'll want your wheel base to be.
Don't worry about this too much. The length of your Board is more important anyway and the wheelbase varies according to the length of the deck
You decide what feels best to ride.
